West Lake Hills (locally referred to as "Westlake") is a city in Travis County, Texas, incorporated as a village on September 9, 1953 with 2,560 acres (4 square miles). The population was 3,444 at the 2020 census. The city developed rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s on the south side of the Colorado River. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.7 square miles (9.6 km2). Home to EanesISD some of the most renowned schools in this suburb of Austin, located just south of Lake Austin west of central Austin per Wikipedia and Westlake.org. Barton Creek, about 7 miles (11 km) west of downtown Austin is a 2500 acre Master Planned Community made up of eleven separate exclusive gated communities. Westlake Hills, Rolllingwood, Davenport Ranch, Lost Creek, Bee Cave Woods are a few of the favorites in the area.
